Who are we?
We are Matthieu and Camille, together with our tribe: Manoé, Naéla, Mia and our faithful four-legged companions! 🐾 Since 2015, we have been growing a dream: creating a place to live that respects all living things, where autonomy, sharing and reconnecting with nature are at the heart of daily life. Inspired by our time in an eco-village in Europe, we gave birth to the Oasis des Possibles, a permaculture farm nestled in the mountains of Dumbéa. 🌱 Here, we experiment, learn and cultivate every day another way of living, more conscious and closer to nature. Today, we are happy to open our doors to share with you this little corner of paradise and our passion for all living things. Welcome to our home! 💚
Where can you find us?
📍 The Oasis des Possibles is nestled in the heart of nature, in the hills above Dumbéa, in New Caledonia. The eco-place is about 25 minutes by car from Nouméa and 40 minutes from the airport. You can find our full address on our website and on Google Maps. We recommend planning your journey in advance so you can enjoy your getaway with peace of mind. 💚
How do I book?
To book your cocoon, go to the “Accommodation” section of our website! Fill in our booking request form and we will get back to you with a secure payment link.
What activities are offered at the Oasis?
During your stay, you can take part in themed visits we offer on site (vanilla and cocoa, permaculture, discovering plants, local culture…). Depending on what you feel like, feel free to get in touch with us: there is something for little ones and grown-ups alike! Throughout the year, we offer workshops, courses and events around nature, permaculture, well-being and personal development. 📅 Our programme changes with the seasons! Find the upcoming events and all the information on our website. Self-guided activities are also on offer: you can go hiking in the hills, swim in the water hole of the Dumbéa river, meditate and practise your yoga routine on our natural platforms with a view, stroll through the forest along the stream, and observe the lush wildlife and flora (the place is perfect for birdwatching). These are only ideas, the sky is the limit!
What is the best season to visit the Oasis?
The Oasis welcomes you all year round! New Caledonia has a climate with two seasons: the warmer austral summer, from November to April, and the austral winter, from April to October. Each time of year has its advantages: • From September to December: the days are sunny and temperatures start to rise, ideal for outdoor activities in the morning and for swimming. • From January to April: the air is more humid and the tropical nature shows off its most beautiful colours, the perfect time to observe the wildlife and flora and take superb photos. • From May to August: temperatures soften, and in August the whales return to this side of the Pacific; it is perfect weather for hiking in the hills, relaxing and reconnecting with nature from your hammock. Each season has its own magic, and it is up to you to discover it.
Is there a place to swim at the eco-place?
On site, you will find small, shallow pools of water, ideal for a refreshing break throughout the day. After a short hike in the hills, you can cool off in a natural water hole formed by the Dumbéa river. The place is peaceful, intimate and inspiring, magic guaranteed.
Is the accommodation equipped with a fan or air conditioning?
Our cocoons have fans to cool you down in the hottest weather.
Is the site accessible to people with reduced mobility?
Because of its geography and its location in the heart of the hills, the site is unfortunately not accessible to people with reduced mobility.
What does the host provide during my stay at the Oasis?
The accommodations offer an equipped kitchen via the living space “Les Sens Ciel”. As part of an eco-responsible approach, we provide bed linen but not towels. To prepare your stay as well as possible, read the description of your accommodation on our website or contact us with any questions. 🙂
